The World Series Of Poker

The World Series of Poker (WPT) is an international poker tournament organized by World Series of Poker, a division of the world’s biggest poker organization, Party Gaming. The WPT started in 1996 as a tournament in which pros from all over the world came to play for the championship. The tournament became very popular and it was then decided to have a world event with a fixed prize pool. The first tournament offered a large cash prize and attracted thousands of players.

WPT is played in eight countries – Australia, Canada, USA, European, Latin America, Asia/Pacific and the Caribbean. In each country there are two or more qualified players following each respective season of the World Series of Poker. As per the rules, the player with the most chips at the end of the tournament wins the prize money. There are also other tournaments besides the main tournament such as the World Series of Poker super eliminator, World Series of Poker royal rush, World Series of Poker specials and World Series of Poker playoff. World Series of Poker super eliminator is played after every four consecutive weeks and the winning player has an opportunity to face the celebrity that he has chosen as his role model.

World Series of Poker main events is a source of revenue for WPT, contributing around seventy percent of the annual revenue. Another major aspect of World Series of Poker events is the WPT bonus money. WPT offers the player, who is playing in the main event, a certain bonus amount of money in his account in case he wins the tournament. The bonus money is given to the winner of the tournament in a lump sum.

There are some interesting traditions attached with the World Series of Poker. Each country in the world has its own champion for a year, called the World Champion. The World Champion is the highest ranked poker players in the world at the time of the event. Every four years, a new World Champion will be selected and given the challenge to win the World Series of Poker. If a player fails to win the said tournament for a second time in a year, he will be forced to vacate his current World Series of Poker champion position.

The World Series of Poker main event, also known as the World Series of Poker super mid-season, or the World Series of Poker main tournament is played annually. In this year’s main event, there will be two teams in play, with one team playing in Las Vegas with only a single table inside. On the other hand, there will be a team in Las Vegas with only a single table. The aim is to see who will get to win the tournament for the largest prize money.

When the World Series of Poker main event is held each year, the best poker players in the world compete along with the best poker room in the world to get a share of the prize money. However, there is another thing at stake in the event that is called the “following year” factor. It means that if you win the main event last year, you have a good chance to win it again this year as well, but you do not have an easy task getting the secondary prize money either.
